Meaty, delicious and easy to make heaps for a party. There is no real reason you couldn’t use lamb or pork mince for these.

Ingredients

  • 2 Sheets Puff Pastry
  • 500 grm Beef Mince
  • 1/2 Onion, finely diced
  • 1 Carrot, finely grated
  • 1/3 Cup Grated Cheese
  • 1 tsp Vegemite
  • 1/2 tsp Chilli flakes
  • 1/2 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 Cup Cornflake Crumbs
  • Milk

Method

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 200 degrees and line a baking tray with baking paper

Step 2

In a large bowl mix the mince, egg, onion, cheese, carrot, vegemite, spices, and cornflake crumbs. Really get in there with your hands and mix it well.

Step 3

Lay out the sheets of puff pastry and slice in half. Make a sausage out of a handful of the mince, the sausage should be about the size of a 20 cent coin. Lay it down on one part of the pastry and roll it up making sure that there is some overlap of pastry on the bottom. Halve each roll then halve them again so you have 4 equal sausage rolls.

Step 4

Repeat 3 more times with the reaming sausage mix and puff pastry. Laying out your 16 sausage rolls on the baking tray.

Step 5

Brush the top of your uncooked rolls with a little bit of milk before baking them in the oven for 25 minutes or until golden brown .

Step 6

Serve hot with your favourite sauce.
