Holy flapping duck shit Batman, this sauce is good!

This was actually made as a baste for burgers but It is so good you could thicken it into a sauce or use it as a marinade.

It was passed on to me by a friend and apparently it is a copy of the TGI Fridays JD Burger. I don’t know because we don’t have them in Canberra. I think there are a few in Australia but I’m not about to look that up.

This is also a great excuse to buy and drink JD as well. Not that I really need one.

  • 3 cloves garlic - crushed
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp Jack Daniels Whiskey
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 cup water

Step 1

Combine water, pineapple juice, teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar and chilli powder in a saucepan over medium high heat. Bring to the boil while stirring occasionally. Reduce to a simmer.

Step 2

Add the lemon juice and Jack Daniels. Simmer for 15 - 20 minutes until desired consistency. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

Step 3

Pour yourself a JD and ponder how you are going to use this delicious sauce.
